Self Portrait Tuesday- Week 2
I have horrible hands.
You can say it.
I know.
Yes. I bite my nails. I always have.
From time to time I'll quit. They grow. They are ugly. They peel off.
I'm just not meant to have pretty hands.
When I was little I had warts on my left hand. Warts dotting my whole left hand. They finally went away. Thankfully. Now I have a spot on my right hand. From what I don't know.
My thumbs are cracking from dry air.
seriously ugly hands, girls.

I have ugly girl hands too. My thumb is part of my SPT this week as well.
I don't think they look ugly. I just think they look like normal person hands instead of hand-model hands. Who the heck really has hands that look like the ones in magazines or movies? No one I know. I like real person hands better anyway.
i don't see anything ugly there. they look strong and able to me. and this pic of them is great.
hi! i'm not lovin' my own hands lately - but you should, after a few days of lotion they start to feel better, i tried it, it works - remembering to do it or taking the time to do it well...another thing
Yes, but they can make things, and give hugs, and pet animals and pull loved ones closer for a kiss, and - let's not forget the most important one - mix cake batter!
I used to bemoan the state of my hands.
A brown spot from where my brother hit me 38 years ago! cuts, scrapes, another scar I can't explain...and now?
I like them.
I think they are beautiful. Hands help us and provide us with the ability to do so many things. Strong, secure, artistic, hands...
And I love the picture...
I have met so many gals who sew and bite their nails! Your hands look very similar to mine. And, I say our hands are just right! Manicures?...I'd rather have fabric :-)
You guys are too good to me!
thank you!!!!
I agree with all of the above!
I agree too. I don't see any ugly hands in this picture!
Nims
They just look capable to me. Good hands.
Yep, nothing wrong with them. My hands are cracked from the cold too, it drives me mad.
I have the same hands.
I know you are not here anymore, but sometimes I pop in to read and then over to the other to see how you are. I think about you often wondering how much more we have in common than hands and biting nails that would just split and peel anyway.
I admire you for your strength and the way raw emotion comes through so clearly on your photograpy. I wonder if there is a crossroads we all to come to as a mothers when we think something different and things change, we gorw, etc.....anyway you don't know me, but I'm your friend. I'm a mama to five. I sew, I take pictures and sometimes I feel like no one at all. Yet other days I'm the happiest mama in the world.
I am blessed, but still searching for something..myself perhaps....thank you for the inspiration. Hugs to you in this new year.
amy.. your words just touched me today.
